King Charles Says Cancer Treatment to Be Reduced Next Year

by Reuters News Service

King Charles announced on Friday that his cancer treatment can be scaled back in the coming year, sharing his personal experience with the illness during a televised address for Britain’s national cancer awareness campaign.

The 77‑year‑old monarch was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer in February. Speaking to the nation, he said his progress was due to early detection and effective medical care.

“I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to doctors’ orders, my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year,” Charles said.

The King’s remarks were part of a broader effort to highlight the importance of early testing and treatment, as the government seeks to raise awareness about cancer prevention and care across the UK.
