Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has donated an additional ₦10 million to Dominican College, Abatete, as part of his ongoing support for the institution.

Obi made the donation during a visit to the school on Saturday, where he also inspected the construction of a boys’ hostel project he is helping to fund. The latest contribution builds on an earlier ₦25 million donation he made in July 2025 when he laid the foundation for the hostel.

Speaking during the visit, Obi said he was encouraged to see investments in education translating into the development of responsible future leaders. He stressed that without proper guidance and access to education, many young people risk being drawn into crime and insecurity.

Over the years, Obi has supported Dominican College with several projects, including the construction of a female hostel, provision of buses, computers, generators, internet connectivity, and a borehole—efforts he described as consistent with his vision of improving the learning environment for Nigerian children.

He urged students to remain focused on their studies and personal growth, noting that his investments in education were not for show but deliberate efforts to secure a better future for the country.
