Former presidential candidate Peter Obi on Tuesday joined the Labour Party’s governorship campaign rally in Ogbunike, the hometown of deputy governorship candidate Mrs. Ifeoma Veronica Okaro, where he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to transformative and people-focused leadership.
Obi arrived in Anambra State via Asaba following engagements in Lagos and immediately joined the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, at the rally. The event drew enthusiastic crowds and was marked by energetic support from local residents.

Addressing the gathering, Obi expressed deep appreciation to the Ogbunike community for their steadfast support and belief in a governance model that prioritizes human development. He emphasized the Labour Party’s vision to improve lives through quality education, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, and job creation.
“Our mission is to transform lives and restore faith in leadership,” Obi said. “Together, we will build a more inclusive and prosperous Anambra.”
The rally underscored the Labour Party’s grassroots momentum ahead of the state’s upcoming elections, with party leaders pledging to deliver policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens.
