Real Madrid Set to Face Liverpool in New 36-Team Champions League

by Joseph Anthony

On Thursday, Liverpool were drawn to face reigning champions Real Madrid as they make their return to the Champions League, now expanded to a 36-team league format.

The revamped competition has created some exciting matchups, including a rematch of last yearโ€™s final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, while Manchester City is set to clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

This yearโ€™s menโ€™s tournament introduces a new structure where teams will play eight fixtures during the ‘league phase,’ a notable shift from the traditional group stage format.

The draw, held in Monaco, featured special guests Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon. The dates and times for each teamโ€™s fixtures will be announced on Saturday.
