The convener of Centre for Disabilities, Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, has hailed Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for employing 20 physically-challenged people at the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

Oshilaja, in a statement signed by the Secretary, Comrade Taiwo Adesina, said the governorโ€™s action was commendable, especially considering how the physically-challenged were discriminated against.

โ€œWithout mincing words, this act has not only shown the kindness of our governor, it has also proved him to be an action man. The decision has confirmed him to be a professional in governance. Our group will never forget this expression of love by Governor Sanwo-Olu,โ€ Oshilaja said.

He said the governor should, for the sake of posterity, maintain the tempo of governance with human face already initiated by his administration, to take Lagos State to the next level.

Oshilaja implored the government to involve their members in governance and policy making.

โ€œWe pledge our support for the government and express our readiness to answer governmentโ€™s call whenever they want ideas on how to address the welfare of the physically-challenged.

โ€œLike Oliver Twist, we are asking Governor Sanwo-Olu to employ more of our members in ministries and agencies. We thank the Managing Director of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, for accepting our members into the agency,โ€ he added.
