President Muhammadu Buhari has received the advisory report on the implementation of the N30,000 new National Minimum Wage.
The President had on January 9, inaugurated a Presidential Technical Advisory Committee on the implementation of the wage, with the primary task of advising the government on how to implement it.
The committee was also to offer advice on โthe consequential increases in salaries and allowances for other employees, without worsening our already difficult fiscal condition, and without adversely impacting the nationโs development goals as set out in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).โ
The committee, which was chaired by renowned economist, Mr Bismarck Rewane, has just submitted its report to Buhari in Abuja.
Speaking while receiving the report, the President promised to โreview this report expeditiouslyโ to determine governmentโs next line of action.
