Carlos Walker, also known as rapper Shawty Lo, died in a fiery car crash in Atlanta early Wednesday.

Walker’s manager confirmed the news with CBS, adding it’s likely the 40-year-old performer was a victim of a hit and run local officials have yet to find the other vehicle involved in the incident.

Police told the news outlet one vehicle likely went over the guard rail and caught fire while Walker’s 2016 Audi hit a tree, which caused it to flip over and catch fire. He was then ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene.

There were two female passengers in Walker’s vehicle at the time of the accident, but they have yet to be identified and their conditions were not immediately known.

Walker is a founding member of the hip-hop group “D4L,” popular for its 2006 hit “Laffy Taffy.” In 2003, he founded D4L records and has released several solo tracks including his popular debut single “Dey Know.”

The rapper, who leaves behind 11 children, is also well known for attempting to create a reality show with Oxygen Network about his off-spring almost all of which have different mothers.

“All my Babies’ Mamas” was met with critique and outrage from parent groups and the general public alike, and it was canceled in 2013 before a single episode aired.
