George Clooney wasn’t the first person his pal Brad Pitt told about his divorce, in fact — he didn’t hear it from him at all.
Clooney was shocked to learn of his famous friends’ split when a CNN reporter questioned him about it on Tuesday at the United Nations.
“What happened?” Clooney asked.
The reporter explained Jolie had filed for divorce from her husband of two years, to which Clooney replied, “I didn’t know that. Wow.”
“I feel very sorry then. That’s a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It’s an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that,” he told reporters.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it,” the “Ocean’s Eleven” star added.

Clooney, 55, and Pitt, 52, have been friends for quite some time. Often playing pranks against each other and starring in popular films together such as “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Burn After Reading.”
On Tuesday, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The 41-year-old actress also referenced Pitt’s problems with marijuana, alcohol and anger management, TMZ reported.
Jolie is asking for full physical custody of the couple’s six children, but will allow visitation rights for Pitt, according to the suit.
Clooney was visiting the United Nations on Tuesday to attend a roundtable with President Obama to discuss the refugee crisis.
