A city council member was arrested on a charge of being a public nuisance after being accused of rubbing the behind of a woman on a crowded train, according to police in Japan.
Tokyo police said that they have arrested 44-year-old Tokuro Suga, who is a city council member in Chigasaki, after being accused of molesting the 24-year-old woman late at night.
In court, Suga denied the allegations, saying that he was not the person who touch the womanโs behind. According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Monday around 11:30 p.m.
Suga and the woman were traveling on the JR Tokaido Main Line. When the train stopped at the Shinagawa Station, Suga rubbed the behind of the woman.
The woman managed to twist the councilmanโs hand and held him down until police arrived to arrest him.
