A man who sat just two years in prison for killing a man in a hit and run, was himself killed in a hit and run while jogging on a street, according to police in Texas.

Dallas police said that they have arrested 68-year-old Andrew Lee Laymond, after being accused of slamming his car into 64-year-old George Thomas Kohoutek.

Laymond has been charged with one count of accident involving serious bodily injury. He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $3,500.

According to the police investigation, Kohoutek was running in the 3400 block of South Buckner Boulevard, on Wednesday night, when Laymond slammed his Ford truck into him.

Laymond fled, but police tracked him down with the help of an image taken by a witness. Laymond told officers that he thought he had hit debris.

On January 27, 1990, Kohoutek was driving his car in the 8100 block of Inwood Road, when he made a U-turn, jumped a median and accelerated into Rafael Caracheo.

The car dragged Caracheo for several blocks before he was thrown off. Kohoutek pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but was paroled two years later.
