A girl shot herself in the head with her mother’s gun after her
friends uploaded her nude shower video on Snapchat, according to police
in Florida. Wesley Chapel police said that they have launched an investigation,
after the mother of 15-year-old Tovonna Holton, found her dead in the
bathroom of the family home.
Levon Holton-Teamer revealed that she did not know why her daughter took
her own life until she got messages on Facebook, saying that friends
uploaded the nude video, which showed her daughter taking a shower, on
Snapchat.
On Sunday afternoon, Levon told her daughter to clean her room, but
instead, the girl went to the bathroom and shot herself in the head.
After a few minutes, Levon went to the bathroom and saw that the lights
were off. She looked down, and saw a pool of blood on the floor.
She forced open the door, and found her daughter with a gunshot wound to
the head. The teenager had taken the gun from her mother’s purse.
Tovonna attended the Wiregrass Ranch High School, where she faced bullying following the incident with the nude shower video.
So far, no arrests have been made.
