Yoruba rapper Lord of Ajasa defends his lyrics, states that he did not insult Olamide.

Lord of Ajasa whose real name is Olusegun Osaniyi in an interview with Punch magazine on September 17 shed light on his difficulties in becoming as popular a musician as Olamide, 9ice and others.

The artist who is the pioneer of yoruba rap in Nigeria has been around even before the late DaGrin and inspired the likes of CDQ, Eedris Abdulkareem,Reminisce, Olamide. He laments about the young and fast rising stars who have numerous endorsement deals stating that their lyrics are not as fresh and meaningful as his.

When asked about the contents of his song ‘Olatenu’ he explained that he was in no way dissing YBNL artist, Olamide. he said, โ€œI did not yab them on the track, they are all small boys who all began their music career in my room in Bariga”. Ajasa claimed that his actions were to let the world know that he contributed hugely to the success that the ‘Durosoke’ artist is today.

According to him the jabs he took at Olamide weren’t personal but part of the hip hop culture to juice up the lyrics.
