World APC wins Yobe bye-election by Joseph Anthony June 2, 2014 written by Joseph Anthony June 2, 2014 242 views 242 Nangere (Yobe) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Alhaji Saidu Baba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the bye-election into the Yobe House of Assembly. INEC had on Saturday conducted a bye-election to fill the vacant Nangere constituency seat, following the death of Adamu Degubi. Degubi was killed by unknown gunmen in June 2012. The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Malam Idris Yusuf, announced that Baba polled 14,360 votes to beat Shuaibu Ibrahim of the PDP who scored 7,851 votes. The returning officer said 23,320 votes were cast, out of which 1,089 votes were invalidated.
