An 18-year-old Australian teen who escaped a Sydney police station holding cell was recaptured by cops after she reached out to a TV station to ask them to use a more flattering photo of her.

Amy Sharp had fled the Surry Hills Corrective Services Comples on Friday afternoon and was last spotted running down a street near the police station, according to 7 News Sydney.

She was considered to be a โ€œlow riskโ€ to the community and had been arrested for โ€œproperty offenses,โ€ the station wrote in a media advisory about her escape, along with mug shots Sharp apparently disapproved of.

She appeared glum looking and had a pink blanket flung around her shoulders in the police photos.

The first commenter to the story posted to the TV stationโ€™s Facebook page was none other than Sharp herself who suggested an alternative photo of her.

โ€œCan you use this photo, please and thank you,โ€ Sharp wrote on the TV stationโ€™s Facebook page along with a more polished picture of herself. โ€œYours Truly, Amy Sharp xx.โ€

Cops were able to re-arrest Sharp in Sydneyโ€™s Wentworth Park, not far from where she escaped, Sydney Morning Herald reported.
