The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, has disowned an alleged money ritual victim, Rachael Godwin, who claimed to be a staff member of the facility.

Heraldnigeria.com on March 7, 2019, reported that the physiotherapist narrated how her boyfriend, a suspected Internet fraudster identified simply as Olumide, forced her to wear pants, which he allegedly used for money rituals.

According to her, Olumide, in connivance with his colleague, forced her to wear the pants for money rituals.

Godwin said she met Olumide in January 2018 on a Bus Rapid Transit vehicle travelling from Ikorodu to Ikeja.

She added that she did not know how she fell in love with him soon after they met.

Godwin said her trouble started on December 14, 2018, when Olumide came to her house and gave her one of her pants to wear.

The 32-year-old added that Olumide forced her to wear the pants with the help of one of her neighbours, Helen, after which she lost her senses and had to be taken to her mother’s house for treatment.

On realising that Olumide was an Internet fraudster, Godwin reported him to the police and he was subsequently arrested.

In a letter made available to The PUNCH, the NOHIL, however, said there was no record of Godwin being its employee.

The statement read, “The attention of the hospital management was drawn to the newspaper report dated Thursday, March 7, 2019, published by your medioum in respect of the above caption.

“According to the report, it was narrated that one Rachael Godwin, who, after some interactions with her boyfriend lost her senses, is a staff (member) of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.

“Going through the records of the hospital, we wish to intimate you that Rachael Godwin is not a member of staff of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.”
