Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has won the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Best Performing Governor Award for 2019.
A letter by NUT’s Secretary-General Mike Ike Ene said Obaseki was picked for his role in improving basic education and teachers’ welfare.
Ene said Obaseki’s achievements in education in three years was visible to everyone.
The award will be presented to Obaseki on October 5 in Abuja during the World Teachers’ Day.
“Such an award is unique as all teachers are…presenting your Excellency this Award,” it said.
