Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his commitment to education and healthcare development with a ₦15 million donation to Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu.

Obi made the contribution during his visit to the institution’s College of Medical and Nursing Sciences, where he commended the remarkable progress achieved since his last visit. He described the transformation as a product of “dedication, vision, and purposeful leadership.”

Speaking to students, Obi emphasized the importance of education as the foundation of national productivity and progress. He urged them to see themselves not only as learners but as global citizens who will shape the future of Nigeria’s healthcare sector and represent the country proudly on the world stage.

“We must give them the tools, environment, and moral grounding needed to excel,” he said, stressing that investment in education and healthcare remains critical to building a sustainable and prosperous nation.

The donation, he explained, was part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen institutions that nurture human capital and improve healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
