Reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, along with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legacy coalition, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection took place during the APC Edo State’s inauguration of the National Working Committee for the Edo governorship election on Saturday.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the former governor of Kano State and National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the governors of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Cross River, Bassey Otu. Also present were Edo State APC Chairman, Jarett Tenebe, the Governorship Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Adams Oshiomole.
Shaibu publicly announced his decision to join the APC and was formally welcomed into the party by the National Organising Secretary.
