The Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu has paid an inspection visit to the ongoing road construction of World Bank/Umuguma road and Emmanuel College/ Naze road.
Inspecting the World bank/Umuguma road, the Works Commissioner appealed to residents and road users of Umuguma to cooperate with the contractor for prompt completion of the road adding that the road will in the coming weeks wear a different look.
The Works Commissioner on inspection of Emmanuel College/Naze road where asphalt overlay is ongoing commended the contractor on the work pace while calling on quality construction of the road.
Ralph Nwosu further re-echoed State Government stand on quality and standard construction of roads in Imo State, stating that government will not tolerate any act of sharp practices by any contractor and called for total compliance of the best engineering practices as contained in BEME.
The Commissioner used the opportunity to reveal State Government intention to carry out road maintenance on twenty eight (28) identified critical roads in the three senatorial district of the State.
Continuing, he hinted that the State Government is desirous to meet the reasonable expectations of Imo People through her developmental agenda and people oriented policies and programs.
He further charged Imolites to give more support to Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration as it navigate on reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery drive for a prosperous Imo while calling for peaceful coexistence in the State as the yuletide season draws nearer.
