The charge was given by Chris Oluka, Head, Public Affairs, Gombe Zonal office on Wednesday June 16, 2021 while delivering a lecture entitled, โMoney Laundering, Terrorism Financing and Corruption in Nigeriaโ at the Gombe State University, Gombe . โ You cannot afford to lose your identity by allowing yourself to be used to either launder stolen funds or support terrorism which has become the greatest problem facing Nigeria today especially in the North East, โhe said.
In a brief remark, the Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Ibrahim Waziri, pointed out that students needed to change their attitudes by learning to be content with whatever they have and rejecting all forms of peer pressure to engage in crime. He recommended a deliberate and open denouncement of corrupt persons by the society as a deterrent.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has charged students across Nigeria to shun all forms of corruption and resist attempt to be used by corrupt people to launder stolen funds.

Oluka who represented the Gombe Zonal Head, Babashani Umar Sanda, said โThe problem with corruption is that those who are mostly affected by it hardly understand they are part of it, they rather point accusing fingers at others while perpetrating same in their various field of endeavours and social levels.โ
He told the students to live up to their responsibilities as stakeholders in the fight against corruption by decisively shunning corruption in their academic activities and reporting those involved to relevant authorities, especially the EFCC.

While giving a vote of thanks, the Head of Department of Business Administration, Dr. A.A. Abubakar thanked EFCC for honouring the invitation to speak with students of the university saying it was indicative of the Commissionโs seriousness to nip the issue of corruption in the bud.
Highlight of the event was a pledge by the audience including staff and students of the institution to shun corruption and partner EFCC in its fight against corruption.
