The Imo State Executive Council has directed that all roads under reconstruction especially the Polytechnic Nekede Road be completed irrespective of the arrival of the raining season.
Addressing Government House Correspondents on behalf of the Executive Council members, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba further disclosed that repair of roads with potholes within the state has commenced without any hinderance even in this raining season.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy also broke the news of the Council’s approval for Imo Civil guard to be converted to Imo Traffic Management Agency (ITMA) which he disclosed will take off soon. He also disclosed that their region of operations will not only be in Owerri but in all the 3 Senatorial zones in Imo State.
According to the Commissioner, Council also demands that the New Imo State University, Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ideato South should not be shortened but written or call out in full as Council was delighted to inform Imo people that the full recovery from the former imposters has been completed.
