Governor Uzodimma launches 2021 emblem in honour of fallen hero’s of armed forces

Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has launched the 2021 Emblem in honor of the fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed forces at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri, Imo State. 

In the his speech, he commended the Nigerian Legion in the manner they have organized and conducted themselves.



Governor Uzodimma disclosed that the Government has a responsibility to ensure the welfare of Children and families of the Fallen heroes, to support and assist them. 

The Governor assured them of inclusion in the Imo state empowerment programs, the Covid -19 Palliative and other assistance provided by the Federal Government to cushion the effects of dwindling economy in the country. 

He further assured them that the Shared prosperity Government will not abandon them.

“I want to assure you that in us, you have a partner” Uzodimma stated. 

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for women affairs, Hon. Lady Mrs. Nkechi Ugwu who made the opening remark, disclosed the need for the event as she stated that it is to mark and remember the sacrifices made by the Nigerian Armed forces fallen soliders and to raise funds to support and assist the families they left behind.

Present at the launch were: The Deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku, Commissioner for women affairs, Hon. Lady Mrs. Nkechi Ugwu, SA to the Governor on New and Electronic media, Mrs. Nneamaka Okafor,  Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Comrade Alfonsus Anyanwu with retired and serving members of the Nigerian Armed forces and other Exco members of the Imo State Government. 

Also a minute silence was observed in honor of our nation’s fallen heroes.
