The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has appealed for increased involvement of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in the fight against corruption.
The appeal was made Wednesday, August 26, 2020 by the Maiduguri zonal head of the EFCC, Hamzat Rilwan when he paid a Courtesy Visit to both agencies in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Rilwan commended the State Director of NOA, Yahaya Imam for the Agencyโs enlightenment campaigns in Maiduguri, despite the dire insecurity situation in the city, noting that the NOA was crucial to the works of the EFCC. He prayed for the Agencyโs support โby extending its hands of friendship to the Commission so as to make Nigeria a corruption-free nation.โ
Rilwan observed that the EFCC has carried out a number of enlightenment and awareness programmes in both radio and television stations in the state in collaboration with NOA.
Imam on his part pledged his Agencyโs continued support to the EFCC in the fight against corruption, promising that โOur relationship with the EFCC will be more robust. We will incorporate your zonal office in some of our activities before the year runs out.โ
At the CCB, its State Director, Ibrahim Grema assured the EFCC of preparedness to collaborate with it at all times, noting that โthe EFCC and the CCB are working harmoniously in order to achieve desired objectives.โ Grema praised EFCC staff for their dedicated observance of CCB requirements. โBased on our assessment at the Bureau, it is only the staff of the EFCC that always declared their assets every four years,โ he said.
