Following a mild cabinet reshuffling by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the Ministry of Information and Strategy has witnessed a change of baton with the new Commissioner, Barrister Ini Ememobong Essien, taking over from the former, Sir Charles Udoh.
Speaking at the brief ceremony which took place at the Conference Room of the Ministry, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo, Barrister Essien sued for cooperation from the management and staff of the Ministry.
He called on them to be innovative and constantly stay attuned with the industry’s latest methods for optimal service delivery, adding that with commitment, the task of projecting the visions of the administration, would be easily accomplished.
The New Information helmsman pledged to make the information sector and the ministry one big family where every player would proudly have a sense of belonging.
He eulogized his predecessor, Sir Udoh, describing him as an achiever and added that he would always count on his support for a successful tenure in office.
Earlier, the former Information Commissioner, Sir Udoh, urged staff of the Ministry to extend the support he enjoyed while working with them, to his successor, Barr. Essien.
Sir Udoh, who has been deployed to the Ministry of Environment and Petroleum Resources, poured encomiums on Bar. Ememobong, describing him as a gentleman, vibrant and a suitable candidate for the office.
He said that his successor has always been a very reliable ally who has been contributing to the information machinery of the state administration and wished him success in his new assignment.
Present at the event was the Permanent Secretary Mr. Inyang Jameson and Directors in the Ministry.
