Two naval officers, a male and another female, were shot dead on Thursday along the Lokoja-Okene express road.
The incident occurred around 6pm.
It occurred six days after an Army officer, Capt. GSM Abubakar, was killed along the same road while his mother and wife were reportedly kidnapped.
The officers were traveling in a Toyota Sienna bus when they were stopped by the gunmen who opened fire, killing them on the spot.
Police Commissioner (CP) Ayuba Ede confirmed the incident, saying he had sent his men there for details of how and when it happened.
“Yes, I heard about it and I have dispatched my men there to bring me the details of how and when it happened,” said the CP.
As at the time of filing this report, it was yet to be ascertained where the naval officers were coming from or heading to when the incident happened.
