Another batch of stranded Nigerians is to arrive from Malaysia and Thailand.
Though the figure of returnees in the batch was yet to be known, it was however learnt three Nigerians stranded in Thailand airport for about four months were part of the evacuees.
There are 32 evacuees from Thailand, including the three stranded at the airport.
But the figure of evacuees from Malaysia was yet to be ascertained at the time of filling this report.
According to a tweet by the Nigerian In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), a local airline, Air Peace flight APK-7813 conveying the passengers departed Kuala Lumpur to Abuja and Lagos.
The tweet reads: โChartered @airpeace flight APK-7813 conveying Stranded Nigerians from Malaysia and Thailand departing Kuala Lumpur to Abuja and Lagos today with Evacuees from Malaysia and Thailand onboard.โ
The Federal Government is expected to complete the evacuation of over 4,000 Nigerians stranded across the globe as a result of a lockdown put in place since March 2020 occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic by July ending.
