The former Deputy Governor and Attorney-General of Delta State, Professor Amos Utuama (Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN) has been applauded for his outstanding contributions to the nation’s legal jurisprudence through advocacy.
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, stated this in a special congratulatory message to mark Professor Utuama’s 73rd birthday.
Senator Omo-Agege who extolled the leadership qualities and astute contributions of the erudite scholar, legal practitioner, administrator and politician, commended him for his life-long commitment to humanity.
Utuama was Deputy Governor of Delta between 2007 and 2015 as well as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state from 1999 to 2007.
According to Senator Omo-Agege, the learned silk is not only an asset to the Urhobo nation in particular but also to the state and Nigeria in general.
He noted that Professor Utuama has distinguished himself as an accomplished legal practitioner, having attained the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in recognition of his outstanding professional competence and contributions to the nation’s legal jurisprudence.
“I acknowledge your patriotism and commitment to the growth and development of Delta State, as attested to in your meritorious service to the state first as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and as Deputy Governor of our dear state.
“On behalf of my family, politcal associates, constituents and well wishers, I felicitate with you on the occasion of your 73rd birthday.
I thank the Almighty God for His continued guidance and protection over you and here is wishing you good health and greater prosperity in the years ahead,” Omo-Agege said.
