The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu has called for increased collaboration of other law-enforcement agencies with the EFCC in the fight against corrupt practices.
He made this call on Wednesday in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, through Uyo Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr. Garba Dugum while receiving Commodore Majid Ibrahim, the 9th Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS Jubilee, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, who paid him a Courtesy Visit.
According to him , “The fight against economic and financial crimes requires collaboration, and the Commission alone cannot eradicate these crimes without the help of the Navy. Therefore, the need for a sustained synergy cannot be overemphasizedโ.
In his opening comments, Ibrahim said that he came to familiarise himself with the Uyo Zonal Office of the Commission, reinforce the existing synergy between both agencies and pledge the support of the Navy to the Commission in its anti-graft war. “We are here for three reasons: first is to thank you for the good relationship between both organizations. Secondly, to get to know your agency here in Uyo and the third reason is to consolidate on the already existing beautiful relationship between the two agencies”, he said.
Some of the Navy officers that made the visit with the Commander are: J. Y. Dogo, O. J. Utulu, S. Haruna, A. Aku, H. I. Isah, O. Adamu and 2Lt O. I. Apooyin.
