Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule has confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in the state, raising the number to three.
The new cases are females.
Sule stated these at the Government House while briefing journalists on the COVID-19 development in the state.
He explained further the two new cases are returnees from Lagos, adding that they tested positive to COVID-19 from samples of 40 who returned from Lagos and are in isolation.
According to him: โSince the advent of COVID-19, Nasarawa state has taken measures to curtail the spread of the pamdemic in the state and one of the measures is to isolate our citizens who are returning from high risk states.
โCurrently, we have 40 of such people who are quarantined at the State Polytechnics Lafia.
โWe took samples of those who showed symptoms of COVID-19, a total of 14 samples were taken and two of them are positive, that makes a total of 3.
โWe have moved all of them from the State Polytechnics to Dalhatu Arab Specialist (DASH)Hospital Lafia, 11 contacts of the index cases are isolated at DASH, their sample are taken and we are waiting for the result,โ he said
He appealed to residents to identify those returning from high risks states for monitoring.
