The Federal Government has launched the Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari assured the International Oil Companies (IOCs ) of security on their investments.

He promised them that they cannot have it better anywhere than Nigeria.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr. Boss Mustapha, who represented Buhari during the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS) gave the assurances in Abuja.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Silva, who unveiled the code noted: โ€œIn line with governmentโ€™s policy to reinforce and expand gas supply and stimulate demand through the National Gas Expansion Programme, the code will provide open and competitive access to gas transportation infrastructure and development of the Nigerian Gas sector.

โ€œAlso, the code will stimulate the domestic gas supply market, drive gas-based industrialisation and the realisation of the governmentโ€™s aspiration to move 100million Nigerians out of poverty. โ€
