The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on October 3, 2019 called on the students of Battle Axe Academy, Lugbe, Abuja to be honest, disciplined and respectful both to their parents and teachers. He gave this charge as he inaugurated EFCC Integrity Club in the Academy.
Magu who was represented by the EFCC’s Head of Enlightenment and Reorientation, Samin Amaddin said, โThe reason for establishing this Integrity Club, is to sensitize you to fight corruption in your environment, school and society, and to shun all acts of fraud.”
He further charged them to be foot soldiers and ambassadors of the EFCC.
โYou should not copy the people on TV and newspapers that are caught stealing money, instead, you should be good ambassadors,โ he said.
Speaking also to the students, Zainab Bello Tifi, who was on the EFCC delegation, expressed happiness to be with the students and enlightened them on the importance of the Integrity Club.
โCorruption is stealing and cheating, and when somebody keeps a bottle of coke or any other thing and you take it without the personโs knowledge, that is corruption,โ she said.
On her part, the proprietress of the school, Mrs. Kehinde Fasubaa, thanked the EFCC delegation and promised to work together with the anti-graft agency in the fight against corruption.
