The Acting Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu has described the impact of the Nigeria Police on the rising profile of the Commission as crucial and profound.
He made this disclosure on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, through the Port Harcourt’s Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, while receiving the Commanding Officer, Number 19 Squadron, Police Mobile Force, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, ACP J. G. Bakyu who paid him a Courtesy Visit.
According to Magu, the foundation of the EFCC was laid by the Police and several achievements of the Commission bear the imprints of the Police. “I want to thank you for all the support we have been receiving from your Squadron. We are all working for the service of our fatherland. There is a special relationship between the EFCC and Police”, he added.
In his response, Bakyu expressed delight about the positive reports given about the Officers and men posted to the Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office of the EFCC and promised that his Squadron would do more to support the Commission.
“Whenever I report in any formation, I always go round to find out how our men and officers are doing. I’m happy about the reports of cooperation and progress I got and I promise that we would do more to support the work you are doing”, he said.
