The Governor of Kaduna State, who is also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Governorship election held in the state on Saturday, has won seven out of the 11 local government areas so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
His closest rival, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Isa Ashiru, won in four local government areas.
The governor won in Makarfi, Kudan, Ikara, Kubau, Giwa, Kauru and Soba, while the PDP candidate won in Kajuru, Kachia, Jaba and Kaura.
The PDP candidate lost his Kudan Local Government Area where he scored 22, 022 to El-Rufai, who scored 28, 624.
The Chief Collation Officer, who is the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Mohammed Bello, at 4.15 pm, postponed further announcements till 8 pm when results from the remaining 12 LGAs would be declared.
