The immediate past governor of Delta State and senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Delta South, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has called for the cancellation of last Saturdayโs presidential/National Assembly election which produced Senator James Manager as winner.
Uduaghan alleged that the poll was fraught with massive irregularities, ballot stuffing, intimidation and electoral violence by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Assistant, Monoyo Edon, the former governor said he had already petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission about โthe electoral malpracticesโ following the official release of the result which declared his opponent winner.
INEC had declared the incumbent senator, Manager of the PDP, as the winner of the Delta South election, having polled 258,812 votes to defeat Uduaghan, who scored 125,776 votes.
The Delta South APC candidate in the statement, however, thanked the people of the district for their support and urged for calm while reviewing the development.
