The Edo State coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Adebayo Clement Ojo has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office for its enlightenment and sensitization of corps members in the state.
The state coordinator stated this on Thursday, February 7, 2019 when he paid an official visit to the Benin Zonal Office of the EFCC.
Adebayo who said he was impressed with the enlightenment and sensitization activities of the Commission, especially at NYSC Orientation Camp, called for further collaboration between the EFCC and NYSC, in order to nip internet fraud and other forms of crimes in the bud.
โWe need better synergy to do it. There are four zonal areas in the state. We need you to reach out to them especially during their Community Development, CD days,โ he said.
He urged the Commission to expand its enlightenment campaign to the various zones in the state in order to achieve greater impact.
In his response, the Benin Zonal Head, Mailafia Yakubu assured Ojo that the EFCC will not relent in its efforts at sensitizing and enlightening the Public on the ills of corruption and the danger of engaging in internet fraud.
He said: โWe recognise that prevention and education are key to winning the fight against corruption, hence the regular engagements with various stakeholders, especially impressionable young minds.
โWe have taken the campaign to schools โ universities, secondary and primary schools, and churches.
โWe will not relent in doing this, because Nigeria is for all of us and the young ones are our future leaders.
โWe need to guide them properly so that we can have a better future.โ
