The All Progressives Congress Senatorial candidate of Ogun East Senatorial district, Lekan Mustapha has won the election.
Prof Chris Onwuka. Returning Officer of the Senatorial district announced the result at Ijebu- Ode local government collation centre.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission had once declared the senatorial results inconclusive as a result of cancelled results on some polling units.
Mustapha was declared winner, having polled a total of 85,761 votes to defeat Ayoola Sosanwo of Peoples Democratic Party who had 83,528 votes.
The Returning Officer explained that Ajebandele has 10 polling units, adding that there were irregularities in one of the units, unit 006.
She said the result of that unit was cancelled and the results of the remaining nine units were calculated and formed the total announced.
