Burnley have confirmed the signing of Stoke City striker Peter Crouch, with forward Sam Vokes going the other way on a quiet transfer deadline day.

Former England international Crouch returns to the Premier League at the age of 38, having played for six Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, in his career.

He has signed a short-term deal with Burnley until the end of the season.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Cardiff signed versatile midfielder Leandro Bacuna from Reading on a 4-1/2-year deal for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League side said on Thursday.

Bacuna is the clubโ€™s first January signing since forward Emiliano Sala, who joined the club from Nantes earlier in the window, went missing in a light aircraft over the English Channel last week.

Newcastle meanwhile have completed the permanent signing of forward Miguel Almiron from Major League Soccer champions Atlanta United for an undisclosed fee.

British media reported that Newcastle had paid a club record fee of 21 million pounds for the Paraguay international

Spanish midfielder Denis Suarez has joined Arsenal from Barcelona on loan until the end of the current campaign, the Premier League club confirmed.

โ€œWeโ€™re happy that Denis Suarez is joining us. He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla. He brings us quality and options in different attacking positions, so heโ€™ll be able to help the team,โ€ Arsenal manager Unai Emery said.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Shandong Luneng for the transfer of Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini, but the deal could drag on with the transfer market in China open until Feb. 28, British media reported.

Midfielder Fellaini enjoyed regular game time under former United bosses David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho who used him as an auxiliary striker, but has been out of favour under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
