Nigerian Army’s Chief of Logistics, Maj.Gen. Enobong Udoh on Wednesday lauded operatives of the 81 Division for flushing out members of a murderous gang, Badoo, other cultists that tormented residents of Ikorodu and Epe.
Udoh stated this while handing over the headship of the division to the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) Maj.Gen. Musa Yusuf in Lagos.
According to Udoh, he was deployed to the 81 Division at a time the Badoo gang was on rampage, adding that he simply gave marching orders to his Commanders and then provided them the tools they needed to function.
He said: “I simply told the Commander that I did not want to hear anything about Badoo and then with little empowerment on the tools needed to work, the killings became history.
“It is not just Badoo. They did similar things to other cult groups and to criminally minded people within the Division’s area of responsibility.
“I want to specially commend the officers and soldiers of 81 Division for their commitment to duty and discipline. I hope that you will continue in that spirit and give my successor the needed support to move this division forward.
In his remark, Yusuf said: “I am just going to continue what he has been doing. I took over from him at 6 Division and I enjoyed my stay because of a lot of things he put in place security wise.
“I did not have any issue in the six months I stayed in Port Hacourt. To the officers, I will want you to extend the same cooperation you accorded the outgone GOC to me.”
