The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 arraigned one Muhammad Aliyu before Justice Bello Muhammed Shinkafi of Zamfara State High court on two count charge bordering on Criminal Breach of Trust and Issuance of Dud Cheque.
The Complainant alleged that the suspect deceived him into supplying 40,000 litres of gas valued at over N5, 000, 000 (Five Million Naira) only and also entrusting another N2, 554, 000, (Two Million, Five Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand Naira) with the accused, Muhammad.
Muhammad pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him; and the prosecution counsel J. Saidi urged the court to fix a date for commencement trial on the matter while the defence counsel, Lasko Pohomdi pleaded with the court to grant his client bail.
Justice Bello however granted bail to the accused in the sum of N2, 000, 000 (Two Million Naira) with two sureties each in the sum of N1, 000, 000 (One Million Naira) each who are aldo to deposit their passports with the court.
The case was adjourned to the 18th of July, 2018 for hearing.
