A woman and a child were killed in a police shootout in Texas.

Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were called at around 11:00 a.m. after a car was stolen.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and attempted to pull it over but the female driver refused to stop.

Instead, the woman led police on a chase for more than an hour and a half.

The suspect who was identified as 30-year-old Amanda Lene Jones finally came to a stop at a trailer park in the San Antonio suburb of Schertz.

There, Jones tried to force her way into a trailer while displaying what appeared to be a gun and threatened to shoot officers, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

Officer opened fire and killed the woman.

The bullet then pierced the wall of the trailer and hit 6-year-old Kameron Prescott, who was inside visiting his father.

Prescott was struck in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Sheriff Salazar called Kameron’s death a “tragic accident.”

Court records show that Jones is a convicted felon who had been arrested at least 14 times over the last decade on various charges in different counties before she was killed by officers.

The deputies who were involved in the shooting were identified as John Aguillon, George Herrera, Jesse Arias, and Johnny Longoria.

They have been placed on administrative leave as standard procedure while the case is being investigated.
