A lawmaker in Egypt, is calling on women to support their husbands by demanding less sex.

Lawmaker Elhamy Agina said that men in his country are “sexually weak” and they cannot meet their wives’ demands in the bedrooms.

Even though the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), also known as female circumcision, was banned from the country, many people still undergo the procedure.

Agina is asking women to support their men by undergoing the procedure in order to reduce their sexual desires.

The politician said that men in Egypt are “among the biggest consumers of sexual stimulants that only the weak consume.”

Under the current law, those who practice FGM, can be sentenced to jail terms of between three months and two years.

Some lawmakers are now seeking to increase the jail terms. They also want to add jail terms with hard labor if the procedure leads to the death or permanent physical disability of the women who chose to undergo the procedure despite the ban.
