The Food Standards Agency (FSA) of the United Kingdom, issued a warning about possible contamination in yogurt, prompting a large recall.
The FSA said that a number of supermarkets are recalling their branded chilled yogurt products, supplied by Yeo Valley, as they possibly contain pieces of rubber.
This means the products are a possible risk to health. The affected products have been supplied to ASDA, Co-operative, Sainsbury, Tesco, and Waitrose.
Yeo Valley said that it is recalling the products from the retailers.
Point-of-sale notices are displayed in stores selling these products, warning customers about the dangers of consuming them.
โAs a matter of precaution, Asda is recalling a number of its yogurts as there is a possibility that a small number of these products may be contaminated with rubber.
โNo other products are affected. If you have purchased any of these products with the affected Use By dates, please bring these back to your nearest store, where you will be given a full refund.
โYou do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused,โ Asda said in a statement.
