Mum shames ‘sickening’ passenger on Facebook who screamed abuse at her ill child as she bawled on plane

A mum has been backed by thousands of strangers after she publicly shamed a plane passenger who screamed at her ill crying child on a flight from Ibiza.

Nicola Colenso’s Facebook post blasting the ‘abusive’ woman has gone viral.

Scores of social media users registered their horror at the woman’s ‘sickening’ behaviour.

Nicola was on a flight from Ibiza to Manchester with her partner Rick Murray and her four children, when eight-year-old Yasmin had a ‘meltdown’.

Yasmin suffers from Sturge-Weber syndrome, a rare condition affecting the skin, brain and eyes, reports Manchester Evening News.

The woman, who Nicola posted a picture of on Facebook, reportedly turned around and demanded she ‘shut that child up’.

Nicola, from Northwich, said the woman’s outburst made Yasmin even more anxious as she desperately tried to calm her daughter down and reassure her.

In her post, Nicola said she tried to explain Yasmin’s situation to the angry woman ‘very politely’ and suggested the woman ask staff if she could be moved.

The woman apparently replied that she was ‘sick of the noise’ and demanded Nicola and Rick ‘just shut her up’.

In the post, Nicola told the woman: “You continued to be abusive and publicly called her daddy a ‘p****’ in front of her and her other three siblings.

“Your behaviour and outburst was not helpful whatsoever in helping to calm down our daughter’s anxiety.

“I hope social media helps find you to let you know that same little eight-year-old girl ended up being taken to hospital by ambulance that evening as she became seriously unwell.

“Maybe you managed to get a good night’s sleep?”

Yasmin was taken to hospital having suffered ‘severe seizures’ following the incident.

Nicola’s post has been shared by 52,000 people on Facebook, with scores of them blasting the woman’s ‘ignorance’ and ‘insensitivity’.

Ti Rexy said: “I hate it when people act like this. They seem to have forgotten they were once a child too.

“How on earth does she expect children to sit and be perfect when shut inside a tin can when she can’t do it herself as a grown up?”

Carol Danby said: “Some really horrid people out there. Very ignorant.”
