Drake further fueled rumors of a romance with Rihanna when he surprised the songstress with a heartwarming and massive billboard, which sprung up in Los Angeles on Friday.

“Congratulations to Rihanna from Drake and Everyone at OVO,” the billboard read.

The telling statement comes days before the pop diva is set to accept the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Awards, the highest honor at the ceremony, which has been awarded in the past to stars like Michael Jackson and Madonna.

RiRi, who is slated to open Sunday’s award show, proudly shared a photo of Drake’s over-the-top gift, simply captioning the photo, “When he extra,” along with a heart and trophy emoji.

Speculation has swirled that the former exes have secretly been dating again for the past couple of months.

The rumored lovebirds have increasingly been spotted out and have shared several hot twerking sessions on stage together during Rihanna’s ANTI tour.

At a recent concert, the 29-year-old rapper hinted at their renewed relationship, calling the pop diva “the most beautiful, talented woman I’ve ever seen.”

While neither has ever confirmed a romance, rumors first linked them together in 2009, during the “Take a Bow” singer’s back-and-forth relationship with Chris Brown.

Years later in 2014, they were spotted packing on the PDA.  Their steamy love fest also played out in the recent music video for their collaboration, “Work.”

A source recently told People magazine that the on-again-off-again pair is sticking to secrecy, as they “want to do it right” this time around.
