Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha on Saturday night hosted the
Heartland Football Club Players and their managers to a dinner party to
celebrate their victory over Enyimba Football Club of Aba and with that
one-zero victory in their favour, Heartland escaped relegation.
The governor who watched the match at the Sam Mbakwe airport when he
came back from Abuja also congratulated the players and managers. He
told the players and senior government functionaries present at the
dinner that he was at the airport when his attention was drawn to the
match and he decided to watch it.
Okorocha told the players and the officials of the team that they had
made the state proud and commended them for doing so. And also assured
them that their victory would mark a new beginning between the club and
the government in the state.
