A judge gave Bill Cosby permission to go ahead with a lawsuit against one of his rape victims.
Cosby will be allowed to sue a woman who accused him of rape, for breach
of the terms of their confidentiality agreement that was signed by them
a few years ago.
Andrea Constand claimed that she had been drugged and raped by Cosby in 2004.
However, police said that there was not enough evidence to press charges, so she sued him.
The 79-year-old comedian settled out of court in 2006. One
of the conditions of the settlement was that Constand canโt speak publicly about her claims.
However, she did not abide by the agreement. In the lawsuit, Cosby said
that Constand and her lawyers helped leak a deposition in which Cosby
admitted to giving young women Quaaludes with the intent of having sex
with them.
Cosby claims that this breach caused police to reopen her case against him leading to his arrest.
Constand allegedly also spoke to media about the case, which was against their contract.
