A woman who was devastated over her husband’s death, decided to take him on a road trip in Alaska, according to police.
The woman, who was not identified, placed her 78-year-old husband’s dead
body in her car, and drove around for several days, keeping his body
cool by purchasing ice and placing it in his coffin.
The womanโs road trip was stopped after a concerned motorist called the
Ketchikan police to report the strange behavior. The body was released
to the woman, and she promised to take it to a funeral home for burial.
However, she decided to make a long detour on the way, and show her husband the beauty of the state before being laid to rest.
The woman called it a rolling wake and viewing. No charges have been
filed as the man died of natural causes. A funeral home took custody of
the dead body after being contacted by police.
