A man was arrested on a charge of fraud after being accused of stealing items left on the street by dead victims following a terror attack, according to police in France.
Now, the fraudster, who was not identified, has been sentenced to serve 10 months in prison for listing items for sale on the Internet, following the terrorist attack in Nice.
The man wrote in ads that he is selling items from the โ€œJuly 14 massacre.โ€
As a result of the Bastille Day massacre, 84 people died as Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel used a truck to crush a crowd of people.
The ads included photos of a ring, a pair of glasses and a personal note.
The man also said that he had at least another 20 items for sale and urged those interested in them to call him to negotiate a special price.
The man was found guilty of fraud and trying to sell items that did not belong to him. He also was indicted for possession of narcotics after police found two cannabis plants in his home.
In court, the fraudster denied the charges, saying that the items he sold on the Internet, belonged to his family members.
