The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promised to come up with an agenda that will address alleged lopsidedness in the promotion of personnel of the Force.

Junior officers decried alleged high level of injustice in the promotion carried out by the Force headquarters recently.

The affected officers alleged that rather than follow due process, the promotion was lopsided and based on โ€œcash and carryโ€.

A statement by the leader of the affected police officer, Abdulmajeed Lukeman, alleged they were denied the right to be promoted, while those promoted were not qualified.

The aggrieved officers urged the new PSC chairman and the board members to look into the issue.

Their statement reads: โ€œWe are writing on behalf of inspectors, rank and file of the Nigeria Police Force, to draw the attention of the Police Council and the Police Service Commission to our ordeal and the injustice ongoing in the police system.

โ€œIn 2015, the Nigeria Police leaders at that time, in their wisdom, saw the need to upgrade inspectors, rank and file with higher educational qualifications. Based on that, they called for aptitude test (examination) and screening of officers with degrees and HND to be upgraded to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), reference to police wireless message (signal)CB:7510/DTD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.7/11, DTO151800/06/2015 promotion general, dated 06/2015.โ€
