The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on March 18, 2019, charged the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, to partner with the anti-graft agency, especially in its response time, to requests from the Commission.

Speaking through Lawrence Iwodi, Head, EFCC Maiduguri Zonal Office, during a courtesy visit to the CCB office in Maiduguri, Borno State, he noted that the Bureau was important in winning the fight against corruption.

“We need your maximum cooperation,โ€ he said, stressing that the EFCC’s investigations “deserves quick response” from the CCB.

“All requests sent to the CCB should be given maximum attention and prompt response, to enable final determination of cases and prosecution,” he said.

Iwodi also urged the state’s CCB Director, Ibrahim Grema to “respond to request in respect of public servants’ assets declaration forms when the need arises, so as not to delay investigation and prosecution of cases”.

Responding, Grema, promised to give maximum cooperation to the EFCC.
